Checklist
Bid Request Checklist
Use this before you send a scope out to bid. Gaps here are the single most common reason bids come back with wide contingency or change orders later.
A bid request checklist lists the information a directional drilling or fiber construction contractor needs to price work accurately: route and footage, surface types, crossings, soil expectations, restoration standard, permitting responsibility, schedule, and the documentation level required at closeout.
Route and scope
- Route definedStart point, end point and general alignment, ideally with a map or KMZ.
- Approximate footageTotal run length, split by aerial and underground if the route changes character.
- Conduit or cable specificationSize, count, type and whether the contractor supplies material or you do.
- Crossing inventoryNumber and type of road, driveway, railroad and waterway crossings.

Use your browser print function to save this checklist as a PDF. The print stylesheet strips the navigation and expands everything, so it prints clean. Nothing here is gated and we do not ask for your email to use it.
